Animals are so concentrated around Chada Tented Safari Camp - that Buffalo herds reach a thousand, Hippo pods up to 50 and Lions are everywhere. Chada Safari camp is a remarkable Tanzania safari camp and remains the only tourist operation in Katavi and is comfortable, nostalgic and stylish.
Chada Tented Safari Camp has a resident Elephant who comes into the camp and, short of helping himself to a bourbon and soda, seems to be as at home as the guests in this remarkable wilderness region. Game drives by open Land Rovers and walks with armed guards are the favourite Tanzania safari activities. Bush picnics are laid out under shady trees and drinks are usually accompanied by an assortment of wild African animals wandering by.
Man's limited presence in Katavi National Park means that Katavi is like a private preserve, but it is the large mammals who really own it. There is constant conflict between Lion and Leopard, Hippos and Crocodiles, Buffalo and antelope, which makes for electric game viewing and an unforgettable insight into the wilds of Africa on a Tanzania safari.
