19 day Timeless Tanzania Safari Experience
|
|
Days 6 - 9: Serengeti Safari Camp, TanzaniaAfter an early breakfast, you are transferred from Ngorongoro to the Serengeti. The Serengeti is definitely Tanzania's most famous National Park, and the largest at 14 763 square kilometres. Its stone kopjes are home to rich ecosystems. Prides of Lion laze around in the African sun, while Elephant feed on Acacia bark.
The Serengeti plays host to the spectacular annual Wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara in Kenya. This spectacle attracts visitors from around the world who flock to the open plains to witness nature unfold in the most dramatic way.
More than a million animals make their seasonal, if not treacherous journey to greener pastures. The ecosystem of the Serengeti thrives from the migration, from the hungry Lion laying in wait, to the birds of prey circling in the sky.
|
|
However, it is not just the Wildebeest Migration that offers spectacular viewing in Serengeti. The adjacent reserves of Maswa and Ikorongo, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the Masai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya all allow the animals and birds of the area free range to follow their seasonal migrations.
Overnight is at the Serengeti Safari Camp on a full board basis, including activities.

Days 10 - 12: Chada Camp, TanzaniaYour safari continues with a light aircraft flight from the Serengeti to Katavi National Park to Chada Camp.
The Katavi National Park is located in the western area of Tanzania, and is one of the country's most unspoilt areas. It offers superb wildlife viewing in the country's third largest National Park. Katavi offers dramatic scenery, stunning bush settings and a rich and diverse wildlife.

Days 13 - 15: Greystoke Camp, TanzaniaToday you take another light charter flight for your transfer to Mahale Mountains National Park. You then enjoy a boat transfer on Lake Tanganyika for one and a half hours.
Mahale Mountains National Park is located in one of the most remote regions in Tanzania, against the dramatic shores of the Lake Tanganyika and is only accessible by small aircraft. The park is home to a large concentration of Chimpanzee and other primates.
Although remote, guests are recommended to try a Chimpanzee safari to Mahale Mountains National Park. Hikes to their habitation areas are not strenuous, although being in good physical condition is always better.
